Designed in collaboration with architect Umberto Bellardi Ricci, the space embraces New York’s raw materiality, balancing structural integrity with fluid refinement. Original architectural features have been preserved, grounding the showroom in its past while seamlessly integrating a distinctly modern sensibility.
At the heart of the space, a monolithic, ribbon-like light installation flows through the showroom in the shape of an ‘S’, a subtle homage to Safiyaa. Inspired by the Möbius strip, a form symbolising eternity, this sculptural feature casts a soft, continuous glow, reinforcing a sense of movement and permanence.
A careful balance of materiality defines the environment. Satin-finished metal screens enclose the free-standing changing rooms, their sculptural forms evoking the silhouette of two dresses in motion, or two figures poised in elegant dialogue. These panels refract light and colour, shifting in response to the garments surrounding them, subtly mirroring their tones and textures.
At the centre, two sculptural Italian marble tables, designed by Bellardi Ricci, sit in conversation, one larger than the other, creating a dynamic interplay of form and scale. Their smooth, cool surfaces contrast with the warmth of mohair melange sofas, which introduce a softer dimension to the space. Throughout, carefully selected Dedar fabrics enhance the setting with their understated refinement, designed to complement rather than overpower.
Subtle metallic accents bring depth and luminosity. Brass details and satinated metal finishes highlight the interplay between polished and raw materials, while sculptural Mano lamps add a sense of organic craftsmanship. Fackel lamps, with their torch-like glow, punctuate the space, casting warm, directional light that enhances its architectural depth. High-beamed ceilings and exposed steel elements, hallmarks of New York’s industrial architecture, reinforce the juxtaposition of raw structure and refined form.
More than a retail space, the showroom is an immersive environment where craftsmanship and architectural purity converge. Designed to elevate the experience of discovering each piece, it is a space that honours precision, artistry, and the quiet power of femininity, where organic influences soften structure, and strength and elegance exist in perfect harmony.
